cheddar and chive scones

These cheddar and chive scones are so delicious! They smell heavenly and taste great served warm with some butter! You will love them!

 

Makes 8 scones

2 cups flour

½ teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon baking powder

6 tablespoons butter, cubed and chilled

1 bunch of chives trimmed and chopped

1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese

2 eggs

⅓ cup cream

1 tablespoon dijon mustard

1 teaspoon tabasco

In a bowl mix flour, salt and baking powder

In a mixer mix flour mixture and butter until it crumbles

Add chives and cheese and combine

Add eggs, cream, dijon and tabasco and mix

On a well floured surface, form dough into a large rectangle

Cut the rectangle in half and cut the halves in half

Cut each rectangle diagonally into triangles

Place these triangles on a parchment lined baking sheet with space between them

Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown
