In my living room, I went with classic pieces that I will love forever, all from restoration hardware. Dan also had a grandfather clock and drop leaf table to work with, so we also had to take that into account style wise.
i have always love the classic chesterfield sofa, and upholstering it in a khaki linen blend suits our style well. the chairs are classic and i think they create a nice transition between new pieces and the classic look of the clock. i found the vases on the mantle at a local shop, urban farmhouse market and love them. they look great with my navy curtains, which i found at target.
these ikat lamp shades give this setting a fun look. the mirror is from pottery barn, awhile back. I love the big book of chic topped by this michael aram bowl i scored at the gilt sale. these lamps are yet another target purchase. i think it’s fun to try out a trend on a budget!
as i mentioned, my sofa is the kensington sofa from restoration hardware. i am smitten with it. it’s tufted with nailhead trim and has casters on it! i think it looks great with the pillows, another gilt score!
i wanted to keep the flow in the two rooms consistent. to achieve this, i ordered the same style tables, kept the window treatments the same and had the upholstered pieces done in the same fabric. i splurged on this lighting fixture from bittners, but i will have it forever, and to me it was worth it. the wings are another old pottery barn find.
my husband also had this buffet to work with and i feel like the furniture flows pretty well. i am aiming to change all the wall colors in and outside the house in the near future, but that will be a major project and will have to wait for today.
our kitchen is an open floorplan and these upholstered chairs also, from restoration hardware, work nicely for me. the table is an old find from merridian. i love having a display of our family photos, it’s fun!
as you can see, my favorite color is navy and it has been since i was 11. somethings don’t change! hope your thanksgiving is the best yet!
